H100 INITIATIVE

HEMLATA 100 Initiative

The HEMLATA 100 initiative aims to create real and sustainable impact by empowering 100 talented girls with full scholarships to quality based tertiary college education in India.
Areas covered under the scholarship include: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Law, Medicine, Research and Management as well as Sports and Music.

he HEMLATA 100 initiative is holistic in that the scholarship provides for tuition fees, boarding and lodging, transport, books as well as a stipend for pocket money. The initiative is unique in that it works with individual Mentors and Peers to inspire and support our H100 scholars during their years in college. To complement further learning, Life-Skills are added to build on resilience.
By providing these opportunities, we believe that we can help to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty, allowing our girls to live a life of purpose, self-worth and dignity.

Since our launch in November 2018, 8 talented girls have been identified as beneficiaries of the HEMLATA 100 initiative. Every year, we plan to increase this number until we reach 100 and perhaps with grace, many more.

As a social impact project, the HEMLATA 100 initiative upholds Goal #4 of the UN Sustainable Goals 2030.

The everyday stress of coping with a life threatening disease is tremendous for both the parents and children. HEMLATA initiated Yoga for our families in the year 2008, providing holistic support and care for parents as well as children. Nearly 1200 families have benefitted from the service in the nine years of the support."

In addition to financial assistance, HEMLATA provides mentorship and a holistic development, creating the best possible opportunity for the child, to grow. We at RA, see HEMLATA not as a donor-facilitator, but rather, as a parent for the children and are honoured to have HEMLATA as our partner.”
